Mr. Orozco is our coach. He teaches PLTW Engineering at our school, and he is in charge of the FTC and VEX high school teams. He has been teaching robotics since 2015 and has been coaching VEX since 2022. His favorite color is blue, and it is an understatement to say that he loves coffee. In his free time, he likes to watch and play soccer with his family. Overall, we are very thankful to have him as he is our ticket to success.
This is Brian’s 2nd year Coaching in FTC and VEX V5. He is currently a sophomore in college. Brian is a very helpful person and is able yo. His favorite color is beige and as far as his career, he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. Brian is a very outgoing person is very helpful whenever needed.
Jerry is a current Senior and serves the role of leading programmer and Team Analyst. This is his 7th year in FTC and 3rd in VEX. Jerry is described as a very cooperative and imaginative scholar. A fun fact about Jerry is that he knows how to play the guitar. His favorite hobby is playing video games during his spare time, and his favorite color is wine red. Jerry is currently in the Engineering Pathway and would like to become a aerospace or electrical engineer. He plans to attend University of Austin, Texas A&M, or University of Houston.
Karime is currently a Senior, and this is her 5th year in FTC and 3rd in VEX. Karime is a human player, part of our engineering notebook, and outreach. She is described as a very enthusiastic and motivated person. Her favorite color is red, and during her free time, she likes to listen to music. A fun fact about Karime is that she reads and recites poetry since 6th grade. She is in the Biomedical Pathway and would like to become a forensic pathologist or a geneticist. Karime would like to attend UChicago and Texas A&M.
Brandon is our main builder and back up driver. This is his 4th year in FTC. Brandon is a very patient and attentive person. During his free time, he likes to play basketball and loves the color navy blue. A fun fact about Brandon is that he loves shopping for vintage clothes. Brandon is in the Biomedical Pathway, but is still not decided on what exact career he is going to pursue. His dream universities are TAMIU or University of Texas at Dallas.
Mariana is currently a Senior at our campus. This is her 3rd year as a member of FTC and VEX. She is a builder and programmer in VEX. She is described as a very positive and friendly person. Her favorite color is purple, and during her free time, she likes to spend time with her family. A fun fact about Mariana is that she has been in dance since she was about 2 years old. She is in the Engineering Pathway and is still not sure about what she wants to be in the future, but is mostly leaning into being an architect. Mariana would like to attend The University of Texas to pursue her career.
This is Anabella’s 3rd year in FTC and VEX. She is currently a Senior, and her main role main being the financial manager for the team as well as a builder and programmer in VEX. Anabella is a very smart person which helps the team find a faster solution for everything. Her favorite color is pink. She is pursuing a career in the business pathway. Her plan is to attend the University of Texas at Austin
Andres is a sophomore who plays a vital role as both a builder and backup driver for the Mighty Hawks. This is his 1st year in FTC. He works on constructing and adjusting small functions of our robot, ensuring every part functions smoothly and efficiently. Andres steps up as a driver, showing great adaptability, precision and focus during matches. His dependability and team-first attitude make him an essential part of keeping the robot and the team ready for any challenge.
Daniella is a determined sophomore and new member of the Mighty Hawks robotics team. This is her 1st year in both FTC and VEX. She quickly applies her creativity and problem-solving skills to robot construction and programming, helping on changing small details of the robot in performance for competition. She also supports the team by maintaining the website well-structured and contributing to the engineering notebook, making sure everything is well-documented and good presented.
Leonela is a dedicated sophomore and new member of the Mighty Hawks. This is her 1st year in both FTC and VEX. She specializes in assisting Karime with the engineering notebook, helping organize entries, review rules, making our notebook stand out and ensure every detail meets the competition standards. Her teamwork and attention to every detail are key to maintaining a high-quality notebook mainly focused on achieving the Excellence Award.
Regina is a creative freshman and the Mighty Hawks lead designer. This is her 1st year in both FTC and VEX. She collaborates with the builder and programmer to sketch prototypes and develop innovative ideas that improve the robot’s performance. Passionate about music and design, her goal is to craft solutions for this season’s challenge and help the team win the Tournament Champions Award.
Devin is a senior, and engineering notebook assistant. This is his 1st year in FTC. He is a motivated and detail-oriented member of the robotics team. Collaborating with Karime, he takes responsibility for the engineering notebook, carefully documenting the team’s designs, challenges, and progress. Each entry is written clearly and thoroughly, reflecting the team’s hard work and growth. After college, Devin hopes to become an FBI Special Agent with the Drug Unit.
